Is suicide a part of destiny?
Richard A. Nichols III
I've heard various spiritual sources that say, in one way or another, that suicide basically breaks everything. I guess you could say everything that happens is a part of destiny (by definition), though. But a lot of people believe if you commit suicide you'll just have to start over with the same lessons again. Not sure if I believe that--I'm not sure we're really here to learn lessons or that there's any rhyme or reason to the tribulations that befall us. I've heard stories of communications with the dead who had commit suicide, where they've said they regretted it terribly and it caused them to miss out on so many opportunities. But I've also heard that sometimes (but not usually) suicide is just a part of the path you were intended to take. But then, I think I've also read that when your soul is done experiencing what it wished to experience, the dying process will begin and nothing can stop it. So who knows. That's spirituality for you.
Just be aware that people in general have a huge bias against suicide just because it's something they don't want to deal with or because it's too horrible to think about. They'll say anything and be as manipulative as possible toward the aim of getting you not to commit suicide. They don't and can't see the suffering you go through, only the end result which they find unsavory. And some of this bias against suicide may find itself in spiritual ideation about suicide or even answers to this question. Though it does seem counterintuitive, in a way, that damaging oneself to the greatest degree possible could actually make things better. But then, somehow I don't think that way when it comes to people with terminal illnesses and chronic pain, so Idk.
